What else were we going to do with our Tuesday nights?
In January 2012 we found ourselves with a bulging contacts book, a head full of ideas and the opportunity to put on a night at The Stand in Edinburgh. Driven by Jo Caulfield and Kevin Anderson’s original concept, we developed a monthly live panel show ‘The Good, The Bad and the Ugly’ as a vehicle to try out new material and formats.
The catalyst (or deadlines) of the live show became a focal point for the Edinburgh Comedy Collective, bringing local comedians together for a common goal has led to some great writing partnerships and a cracking little show that we wanted to share with the world.
Hosted by Richard Melvin, we’ve had such illustrious names as Ian Rankin, Grant Stott, Professor Richard Wiseman, Susan Calman and Janey Godley join us on stage to tell us what’s been Good, Bad and downright Ugly in their lives. The podcasts are out on iTunes, and their success has led to a version of the live night being commissioned by BBC Radio Scotland for broadcast in late 2013.
